Introduction
This comprehensive guide will take you from level 50 and through your second job change. I [AcidReign] am writing this guide simply because I find the other Ranger guides to be misleading and wasteful placement of stats [hence why many claim Ranger's are poor PVP'ers].

What it means to be a Ranger
A Ranger has the second most AoE skills given to any class. Unlike other AoE classes, a Ranger MUST use ALL of his/her AoE skills in order to survive, not just rely on one like most AoE classes. The same goes for 1v1 skills. All Ranger skills have a cooldown period once each skill is used. This makes the Ranger class one of the more challenging ones, as you must get your timing perfected. The Ranger class is one of the most fun and entertaining to play due to the variety and combinations you can use, damage and block rate which will allow you to take anywhere from 30-100 monsters in later levels. With quickstep, fastwalker and a massive block rate, you will be able to collect faster, yielding insanely high experience, both per AoE and over time than any other class.

When it comes to PvP, under level 105, [or 95/100 should you decide to use a reduction scroll on your 105 set], you may find it difficult to take down many other classes since your block rate will not be maxed and you will not benefit from the added HP bonuses from your upgraded 105 set. In my opinion, spend your time levelling rather than in PvP, so you will be able to do so sooner.

Get Buffed
A Ranger only really needs a few select buffs [maxed] to be incredibly efficient: Heap, Cats Reflex, Cannonball and Quickstep are a must. Mental is preferred as it will boost your overal MP available and Haste if you find yourself needing to 1v1 any stragglers remaining after your AoE. Rangers do not need strength, so tell your Ringmasters that you do not need Beef Up, if they think you need it. Furthermore, you will find that regular Heal is better than Heal Rain, simply because of the increased cast rate. Heal Rain can cause lag, has a slower cast rate, and has a very small radius for which it is effective, so if there is position lag, you'll be in trouble.

The Stats
Most players give up their Rangers because they follow poorly-written guides which claim you should have 50-60 STA. When you add this much STA, you neglect your DEX, which is where your bow power and block rate come from. Not being able to do enough damage will significantly increase your kill time. Sure the HP is nice, but you get hit far more frequently which is why most rangers spend many months struggling just to get to level 90.

From level 15, your base stats should like this:
STR: 15
STA: 15-30
DEX: xxx
INT: 15

Equipment (pre-50)
Any blue set works just fine, +3 elemented the opposite that of the monster you are fighting.
Stick to green bows as you will be 1v1 until 50.
2 x Plug+9 or Demol+12
1 x Gore+5 or higher necklace
2 x Stamring+6 or Arek+6

Equipment (50-105)
If you can afford it, grab the full CW set (Rorend/Rorient). With all 4 parts, it will give you 68% resistance to water, which is all you should be fightning until your next set. Furthermore, your CW gear has the same DEF ratings comparable to the level 75 set, thus saving you money. At the very least, grab the CW helmet and boots, bumping your critical rate up by 14%. You will be using the CW helmet and boots for 1v1/PvP/gianting, all the way to 120, or even Hero. Pierce suits with 28% DEF. Suits should be +3 elemented the opposite that of the monster you are fighting. Eventually you will at least want your CW helmet and boots +8 or +10, but for now, a nice +5 set will do.
Stick to blue bows [awakened with ATK, DEF, HP, STA or DEX] for now. The Guardian Bow is not very useful unless you have a lot of HP. Be sure to get your Angel Bow, and upgrade the hell out of that beast. If you can afford it, go Ultimate. No need to upgrade beyond Ultimate +0 as there is no real benefit until Ultimate +6 for jewel socketing. Ultimate +0 is equivilant to a +20 upgrade.
2 x Plug+9
1 x Gore+5 or higher necklace
2 x Stamring+6 and/or Arek+6

Equipment (105 set)
This is where everything changes for a Ranger. In previous levels, you were concerned with maximizing your DEF. Now we go full ATK. Your 105 set gives you Block +15% and HP +15%. A +10 set gives you an additional HP +20% and Block +15%. Your Angel Bow gives HP +20%. So just in equips alone, you have HP +55% and Block +45%. Toss Perfect Block into the picture and you get Block +65%. Your DEX should make up the difference, or pretty close. Toss Cats Reflex in and it will be maxed for sure. If you can afford it, get 28% ATK. Otherwise, 16% ATK will do. Grab a Legendary Golden Bow or a Bloody Bow for 1v1/PvP/gianting and use your CW helmet and boots with your Raze/Ranerz gauntlets and suit.
2 x Demol+12 or higher
2 x Arek+6 or higher
1 x Gore+5 or higher

Level 15-50
I know it's boring but we all must do it, so lets maximize our equipment and skills during this time. If you have the ability to do so, make a second account, and create an Assist/Ringmaster (Full INT). Depending on your RM's abilities, you can switch between Plug+9's and Demol+12's. Awaken some vagrant gear and stay in it til level 50. Max Junk Arrow, stock up on refreshers and arrows, grab your leech and/or Assist/Ringmaster and go to town. Don't forget the Red Bang quest at level 30. At level 40-45, you can opt to go to Coral Island.

Level 50-60
Starting at level 50, as an Acrobat, you receive Arrow Rain. This is a bitter-sweet time for the would-be Ranger. You have 10 levels to clear before you can become the fastest levelling and most efficient AoE class, but since Arrow Rain has a cooldown delay, it makes things tricky.

Start off at small Nutty Wheels. Element your bow +3 electric. Take it slow, one by one, ensuring your RM can keep you alive. If you do not drop below 50%, take more until you begin to. By the time you are within a few levels of them, you should be able to take them all. Move up to the captains and take them all until you are comfortable taking them all. Have your nicely awakened Sentin bow ready for 55. About level 56-58 range, you will want to move to small or captain Volts for just a couple levels. Element accordingly. Next we face a small delima. On one hand, we can take regular Elderguard to take advantage of your 68% water resistance on your CW suit, or go for the small Elderguard to take advantage of the considerably larger and tighter-packed spawn. This is pretty much going to depend on your RM. Stay here until its job change time.

Level 60+
First and foremost, get your Red Bang, Mantis and Office quests done. Welcome to level 62.

At 62, we're going to head straight to small/captain Garbage Spiders. Element your bow and suit +3 water. Your CW set offers 34% fire resistance already, let it work for you!

By the time you hit 63-65, its time to head over to cranes. Here is where your CW set truly is a blessing. CW set offers 34% resistance to lightning and fire, and 68% resistance to water. Lets element your suit and bow with wind. Small and captain Cranes are both earth, while regulars are lightning, so you will have protection on your suit from both. Within a matter of 1-2 levels, you should be able to take just about, if not everything on the field within just a few aoe's. You will encounter other players at this point beginning to complain about your AoE'ng. Ignore them and just keep grinding. If they try to KS, ignore them and keep grinding. You will be moving on to bigger and better things very soon.

You are 65-67 and you hunger for filet-o-fish, so let's head over to Sylica. Stay at smalls until 68-69, or even 70. Fish are a very good source of experience. Amplify your experience by collecting the 8 spawned smalls from one end of the pool, ice arrow them, then run [using fastwalker] to the other end of the pool to collect another 8, run back to the middle island, and Aoe 2 spawns together.

It's not time for Azria yet, I will explain shortly.

It's finally time to move to Mong. Work your way from smalls, up to regulars. The regular spawn is great because you can run between regulars and captains, allowing each spawn to regenerate in between AoE's. Stay at mong until 72 at the very least, if not 73.

You have two options now. Continue levelling in Darkon, or spring for a ticket to Azria. By now you should have one or more dedicated RM's that you can level with. Make sure they can get tickets as well.

Should you decide to continue grinding away through Darkon, I recommend going straight to Mushpoie -> Watangka -> Antiquery -> Pink Roaches and so on. But that is slow, boring and there are more than enough monster guides out there that you can get a good idea what you should be fighting.

Since this guide is focusing on incredibly fast levelling, lets head to Azria. Now, you could have gone to Azria sooner to kill regular Yetti which are level 73 however, they are Earth elemented and we cannot take advantage of our CW set resistances. I recommend starting on Mutant Yetti, level 79 water-elemented creatures.

In Azria, it is recommended to stay at an individual monster spawn until you are 1-2 levels higher than them. Keep in mind the experience gain will still be superb since we get that extra 20%. In addition, since the spawns are massive, you will be able to take 20-30 per AoE, rather than just 10-15 of the next monster. Furthermore, you will want to start perfecting your hit-and-run tactics. Collect, Ice Arrow, Fire Arrow, Ice Arrow, run a short distance.

As you get more comfortable taking more and more monsters per AoE, modify your AoE sequence to include Arrow Rain and Piercing Arrow. As a personal preference, I use Ice, Fire, Ice, Pierce, Rain, as it [a] delivers 2 Ice Arrow blasts, which will most likely slow all of the monsters down, plus the sequence can be repeated without delay.

By now, you should have a fairly good idea of how to level quickly and efficiently as a Ranger. If you have the money to spend, there are only a few equipments you need to go all-out with and even use -5 or -10 level reductions on: Angel Bow and your Raze/Ranerz 105 set. Once you are in your 105 set, you will want either 16% or 28% ATK depending on your financial situation. At the absolute least, +8 the Angel Bow and Raze/Ranerz. The Angel Bow is one of the last bows and set you will use as a Ranger. I highly recommend buying several Raze/Ranerz parts and awakening them. Helmet: DEX/STA, Suit: DEX/STA, Gauntlet: Critical/Attack, Boots: DEF/Speed/HP. Anything else is pretty much worthless. Just don't go shooting yourself in the foot with INT-18 or MP-300 you are screwed.

If you want to be even more successful in PvP, try for high STA awakenings over anything else. Do not settle for STA+7 either. Keep in mind that with your Angels Bow and Raze/Ranerz set, every 1 point of STA is equal to about 106 HP.

PvP/Arena
You are now ready to debut your exceptional PvP abilities. Use your full Raze/Ranerz with your Angel Bow and skill, or your Legendary Golden Bow or Bloody Bow with your CW parts for critical. Most class can be killed in just 1 round of Auto Shot. You will also discover that you can spam Auto Shot and Poison Arrow, alternating between the two. Don't neglect your flame Arrow!

By level 105-107, you should have perfected your hit-and-run tactic. If not, you need to go back to playing Super Mario Bros. You should be able to take 30+ mammoths with ease, if not up to 60-100 for those of you who, like me, love taking your game to the next level and laughing profusely as you narrowly escape death.

By the time you hit 109-110, experience will start dropping off considerably. At this point, you may opt to use Amplification Scrolls. By 111, experience will be horrible at regular Mammoths and you will have no choice but to move on to the un-elemented and down-right nasty, Cannible Mammoths. The spawns are nowhere near the size that of regulars, and the experience gain is considerably less. Deal with it. It's been a cakewalk until this point, it's time you actually put some real effort into grinding.

Usually around 116-118, you will want to move to the Forsaken Tower. You can AoE, or you can always bust out your 1v1 gear. There is also the Volcane dungeon if the Forsaken Tower is too painful.

Congratulations on level 120! Spend some time here, work on gianting, upgrading your gear, and raping in the arena! If you start to become bored, go Master, and work your way up to Hero! Just be sure you have your trusty Ultimate Angel Bow and Raze/Ranerz +10. Some upgraded jewelry couldn't hurt. You can also stay in full attack gear while you are Master. It is really quite fun and easy until level 103 draws closer, but the extra 75 stat points make it worth it.
